  1. I didn’t know you can eat the fuzzy skin of kiwi. Is there a difference in sugar content between regular kiwis and yellow kiwis?

    • i heard we can eat pineaple or durian skins also ??

    • Yep i eat it all the time, it adds good fiber content to the kiwi for one. Is more edible than it looks. Ate pineapple skin too but less commonly. May wanna wash the skins of these fruits before eating tho if u try. Soak in baking soda water for 15 mins or so

  3. Doctor Gundry, what is your opinion on purple sweet potatoes -vs- purple yams? I heard sweet potatoes have more b vitamins, but the yams have less sugar.

  4. I’ve done it for more than a month at a time, actually. I lost muscle mass; it’s all that happened. My blood work (annual checkup type) was excellent. I’ve done it for what I thought was a cleanse, but I know people who do it as a lifestyle. They all look too skinny to me, and that’s the reason I wouldn’t go on this diet unless forced by circumstances.

  7. Did I understand you correctly — only eat bananas when they’re green, but you also said that’s when the lectin content is highest!?

  8. I’ve been eating SOO much fruit for many years and my blood pressure, glucose, triglycerides are low. I have to firmly disagree with Dr Gundry on this

  11. Banana is a starch, green banana is resistant starch.

  13. Once I saw an original heirloom grapefruit growing in Florida, it was very small and Full quite full of seeds ?

    • Some of the best grapefruit I’ve ever had was in Florida, medium size, white flesh, and loaded with seeds. But it was so sweet and delicious, I didn’t mind the seeds; they were easy to avoid.

  14. i used to make fruit smoothies from frozen fruit thinking i was eating healthy. my triglycerides skyrocketed to over 300. then i learned different.

    • I never eat fruit and my triglycerides are low. It’s nature’s candy and I’ve always thought way too sweet for my taste. My husband eats way too much and his triglycerides are high.

  17. A few years ago my husband started eating a daily fruit smoothie made with mixed fruits, a ripe banana, and apple and orange juices. He gained 50 pounds steadily while doing this. He cut them out and is low carb now, and lost that 50 pounds. Crazy!

  18. Well aren’t the converted fats from fruits used and burned up if someone eat only once a day. So eating multiple times a day can be the health and fat problem.

  20. The “30 day fruit diet” videos here on YouTube claim to have caused weight loss in the individuals that did it. This is so confusing.
